SERIES INFORMATION
Dawn Rising is the first book in the Awakened series. This is a fairy tale fantasy adventure with dystopian and mythological elements.
I love myths and legends, magic and fairy tales. This isn’t your typical retelling, however. Certain key story elements are loosely based on “Sleeping Beauty” (along with a few tidbits of some other familiar tales thrown in throughout the series), but the majority of my series is its own unique blend of many different stories.
The books will be available in hardcover, paperback, and eBook versions.
Dawn Rising is scheduled for release on September 3rd. Books two and three (titles and covers to be revealed at a later date) are scheduled to be released shortly after. No extended waiting periods on the sequels, and each book will be available for preorder by the time the previous book comes out. I promised I wouldn’t leave you hanging once I got the series up and running on a publishing schedule.

BOOK PLAYLIST
Songs will always inspire us in many ways. Writing is no different. I love finding music that suits a particular scene, and sometimes I even gain fresh ideas from the song itself to incorporate into my stories. I don’t necessarily listen to music with lyrics while I’m in the writing phase (too distracting), but I do create playlists and listen to the songs just before I’m about to write the scene or when I need some motivation to keep going.

MEET THE CHARACTERS
AURIANNA
Aurianna is the main character in the Awakened series. Her name is based on Aurora, which means dawn. She is twenty years old during most of the story. Her hair is copper-brown, and her eyes are amber-colored. She struggles with trusting others after an incident a few years ago left her feeling betrayed by her friends. Aurianna is typically more reserved than most, and she tends to sit back and observe others before taking action.
PHARIS
Pharis is a secondary POV character for book one of the Awakened series.
Because of his unbringing, he can’t help but be a little bit spoiled. Despite his outward anger issues and tendency to brood more than is healthy, Pharis generally wants whats best for his people. He yearns to be a better man than his father.
But he holds secrets of his own, and those hidden truths may be his–or Aurianna’s–undoing.

I love the cover! Your series is one of my favorites together with Queen of Tearling, Diplomat of Uram, Elantris, and Harry Potter. Dawn Rising will be another one of my favorites for sure!
